Founded in 1898, First Baptist Church of Boerne, Texas, has a long history of planting churches and engaging in global missions. In recent years, FBC Boerne has partnered in planting multiple churches in Texas and additional churches in Mexico, Russia, India, and Uganda. FBC Boerne believes its best days are ahead!
Their small mission team is the kickstarter for catalyzing church movements and growing the thousand-person church’s understanding of missions. The church serves as a catalyst to send trainers and church planters to the unreached and underserved around the world.
Three New Partners in Missions
In the last 18 months, FBC Boerne has added three new mission partners, including a Cru missionary in Turkey. This individual is working with Turkish pastors to reach one of the largest UPGs in the world: the Turks. There are 85 million Turks, with less than 10,000 known Christians among them.
Another FBC Boerne partner is a missionary working in the Republic of Georgia to encourage and strengthen Georgian pastors to multiply. This is a highly strategic location as a crossroads for many Eastern nationalities.
The third new partner is working in southern Mexico and recently led an intensive discipleship course for one of the region’s UPGs. The intensive resulted in 45 new believers who have committed to returning to their villages and replicating the intensive, hoping to catalyze a movement among the hundreds of remaining unengaged villages in the region.
Southeast Asia Partner Seeking Connections
FBC Boerne has a long-standing partnership in Southeast Asia, where their partner has planted 85 churches in the last 18 years. Recently, the Asian believers have suffered intense persecution, resulting in six pastors resigning. One of FBC Boerne’s goals in collaboration is to find other organizations working in Southeast Asia to provide this partner with more connections, resources, and encouragement.
FBC Boerne is also working with Africa Inland Mission (GACX member) to plant churches in North Africa and with e3 partners (GACX member) in multiple locations worldwide.
“We have seen first hand the benefits of collaboration, so much of our vision and strategy is built around learning and working together with other organizations that can both extend our reach and expand our impact for the kingdom,” reflects Chad Mason, Pastor of Missions & Evangelism at FBC Boerne.
