Kids Outreach Yields New Church in South Asia

Candy Marballi - The Prayer Covenant

Brother V is the Founder of a ministry in South Asia that began over 25 years ago with 60 Christian youth. Today, using a very good discipleship five-module training, they now discipling 10,000 youth each year. He and his pastors and ministry leaders are all from non-Christian backgrounds making this even more miraculous.

These pastors and servants of God have committed their lives to ministry in one of their training programs. They continue to build strong spiritual relationships with each other; which include state and district coordinators, mentors and office staff.

Pastor U is a church planting partner and is supported by Brother V’s ministry base. This is direct church-planting work, enabling them to now have 100 plus newly planted churches. He recently shared:

We have distributed Prayer Covenant books to the children in this village name X, in South Asia. We taught them from the Prayer Covenant book/curriculum how to pray. Since these are all non-Christian children, we asked them to read the next lesson and come prepared the following week. Then on that day, they will receive a gift if they answer correctly.

To our surprise more children came the next day asking for the book to read. Children kept coming—more each day and today there are about 200 children, all from non-Christian backgrounds from nearby villages .

Slowly parents are coming to drop off and pick up their children. Some of the parents started joining the children’s prayer meeting!

After three months of regular weekly children’s meetings, prayerfully we are going to start the first Sunday service this coming Sunday in the history of X villages. All glory to God, and thanks to the children’s Prayer Covenant ministry.

This is a wonderful story of how God is using children and youth to plant churches. The Prayer Covenant is a global ministry equipping churches throughout the world with resources that lead children and adults to follow Jesus through the power of prayer. Our ministry is intergenerational but primarily focused on discipling and equipping children to be prayer-saturated, multiplying disciples.

All of our resources are available freely online to download. In addition, many of our resources are printed locally for use by pastors, parents and Sunday school teachers.
